Sparkling Wine Lounge in Pismo Beach
This Sparkling Wine Tasting Event is in the San Luis Obispo Coastal Wine region (SLO Coast Wine), one of California’s coolest wine growing regions. The 30+ wineries in this area are an average of only 5 miles from the ocean! Coastal fog, wind, soil, and sun create wines refined by the Pacific’s influence. This makes for energetically acidic and complex wines, with a large number of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir producers, cool-climate Syrah, plus the Spanish white grape Albariño.
This area is also perfect growing conditions for the classic Champagne grapes! There are over 20 producers of cool-climate Sparkling Wine in the SLO Coast American Viticulture Area (AVA). Every spring and fall, the SLO Coast Wine Collective holds a Sparkling Wine mini-festival either in wine country or at the ocean, as well as a full day of educational tastings, winemaker lunches and a fun, walk-around tasting of all kinds of coastal wines.
