In the heart of downtown Paso Robles, where wine tasting rooms line walkable streets and every corner invites discovery, Serial Wines offers something a little unexpected—in the best possible way. Equal parts stylish lounge and elevated tasting experience, this is a place where bold reds meet refined bubbles, and where indulgence is not only encouraged, but thoughtfully curated.

A Fresh Take on the Paso Tasting Experience

Serial Wines brings a modern, design-forward energy to downtown Paso. The tasting room feels more like a chic wine bar you might stumble upon in a larger city—sleek, inviting, and just a bit playful. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in, linger, and explore at your own pace.

Behind the wines is a winemaking perspective rooted in the Central Coast, with ties to Santa Barbara County—a region known for its cool-climate influence and elegant style. That sensibility carries through the lineup, offering balance, freshness, and approachability across a diverse portfolio. While Serial is well known for its expressive reds, it’s the sparkling program that truly elevates the experience.

Jeff Kandarian, the winemaker behind Serial Wines in Paso Robles, brings a thoughtful, small-lot approach shaped by his Central Coast roots and time working with top producers in Santa Barbara County. His style leans balanced and expressive, letting each vineyard speak through the glass. At Serial, that philosophy comes to life in a lineup that’s both approachable and quietly refined, reflecting Jeff’s passion for crafting wines with character, energy, and a strong sense of place.

Enter the Bubbles: La Dame Michele

Featured alongside the Serial lineup are the beautifully crafted sparkling wines from John Anthony La Dame Michele—a duo that brings a refined, celebratory edge to the tasting flight.

Méthode Champenoise is how sparkling wine is made in the Champagne region of France, also called méthode traditionnelle or classique. This is the highest-quality and most labor-intensive way to make sparkling wine. It involves bottling the still wine with additions of sugar and yeast after a first fermentation, ensuring a second fermentation happens in the bottle, trapping the bubbles inside. It then goes through aging (and periodic turning of the bottles to force the lees to the neck of the bottle), until it’s ready for dégorgement (to get these lees out) and dosage (to finish the wine).

La Dame Michele’s debut Sparkling Rosé is vibrant and expressive, with delicate notes of strawberry, citrus peel, and a subtle floral lift. It’s lively yet elegant, the kind of wine that feels equally suited to a celebration or a slow afternoon with friends.

The Blanc de Blanc offers a different expression—crisp, bright, and mineral-driven, with layers of green apple, lemon zest, and a clean, refreshing finish. Now in its fifth release, the La Dame Michele multi-vintage sparkling is showing real confidence.

Together, these wines showcase the versatility and sophistication of Central Coast sparkling, with just the right amount of polish.

The Caviar + Bubbles Experience

For those looking to elevate their visit, the Caviar + Bubbles experience is where Serial Wines truly shines. Serial offers various provisions items, and food and wine experiences, like wine + chocolate pairing during February, and Mother’s Day Brunch in May. But the caviar/potato chip/onion dip is one of the best.

It begins, as it should, with a glass of perfectly chilled sparkling—your choice of La Dame Michele Rosé or Blanc de Blanc—setting the tone for what’s to come. Then arrives the caviar service: beautifully presented, indulgent without feeling overdone, and designed to be both luxurious and approachable.

But what makes this experience especially memorable is the thoughtful, slightly unexpected pairing. Alongside the caviar, guests are treated to housemade onion dip and gourmet potato chips—a nostalgic nod that somehow feels right at home in this elevated setting. The creamy richness of the dip, the satisfying crunch of the chips, and the briny pop of the caviar create a playful contrast that keeps each bite interesting.

It’s indulgent, yes—but also fun, unpretentious, and perfectly in tune with the Central Coast’s relaxed luxury.

A Place to Gather and Celebrate

Serial Wines isn’t just about what’s in the glass—it’s about the full experience. The atmosphere encourages connection, whether you’re catching up with friends, hosting out-of-town guests, or simply treating yourself to something a little special.

With its blend of thoughtful winemaking, standout sparkling wines, and elevated yet approachable food pairings, it captures a side of Paso Robles that feels both contemporary and deeply rooted in the region’s culture of hospitality.

For those exploring downtown Paso, it’s a must-stop destination—one that invites you to slow down, sip something beautiful, and maybe add a little caviar to the moment.

Because here, every detail is designed to turn a simple tasting into something worth celebrating.
